Visit the Cité des Oiseaux 

Head for the Cité des Oiseaux in Les Landes-Genussons, a 56-hectare bird reserve with two ponds of 23 and 7 hectares. Its exceptional location on one of the major North-South migratory routes means you can observe over 210 species of bird!
 

The Cité des Oiseaux Discovery Centre

The Discovery Centre is the ideal starting point for your visit. This five-stage exhibition will tell you more about animal migrations: do animals move alone or in groups, what strategies and landmarks do they use?

The tour is fun and contemporary, with videos on giant screens and photos. Special mention must go to the 7-metre fresco!

Then it's off to the lookout point and observatory to put your new knowledge to good use. Will you be able to recognise the species of birds flying overhead? Here's a good idea: binoculars can be borrowed free of charge from reception!

Lots of entertainment for young and old

The Cité des Oiseaux is a lively place all year round. As a family, you can take part in the "Sweety the Hoopoe's Precious Lost" treasure hunt (€3 per family, for children aged 4 and over).

Free nature workshops are also organised during the school holidays. Check out the programme on the Cité des Oiseaux website to find out what's on the agenda for the day of your visit!

The Cité des Oiseaux in practice

The Cité des Oiseaux is open from 15 April to 5 November (opening times vary over the period). Access to the ponds is free.

Discovery centre: €4 per adult and €2 concessions. Under-12s are free. Practical: the family pass (2 adults and 2 young people over 12) costs €10.
