La Cinéscénie : a light show of several centuries of history

This unique show brings to life the destiny of the Maupillier family from the Middle Ages to the Second World War. Go back in time between real facts and legends and walk in the footsteps of the characters in an extraordinary production.

In 1978, Philippe de Villiers discovered a castle in the Vendée and was inspired by French history to write a show.

In 1978, it took shape thanks to 600 Puyfolais before the eyes of the first spectators. Each volunteer could then play several roles without the slightest doubt from the audience.

Today, more than 4,000 volunteers are present each evening of the show to bring back to life these distant eras full of history.

For an hour and a half, the staging is as eye-catching as a tableau vivant in the open air. It's no wonder that tickets sell like hotcakes every year.

 

A show at nightfall

A rare event, this life-size show is performed in the open air and at night. Take a seat in this panoramic stand so that you don't miss any of the performance. Take a flight through the Middle Ages to the 20th century.

Extraordinary technical means are used, such as autonomous drones, pyrotechnic effects, 3D video mapping, etc.

In 2023, La Cinéscénie du Puy du Fou takes place from 3 June to 9 September, every Friday and Saturday evening (except Fridays 2 and 9 June).
