44th edition of the Cholet Photo Festival
The Photo Festival returns to Cholet from October 25 to November 17, 2024. An unmissable event for fans or simple amateurs of the 8th art. Head to the Museum of Art and History to admire the works of the six photographers in the spotlight.
Each year, the Photo Festival organized by the Groupe d'animation photographique de Cholet highlights original and contemporary works.
It has become one of the unmissable cultural events in Cholet, and it is held a stone's throw from our Best Western San Benedetto hotel located in the city center.
The child of Ukrainian refugees who took refuge in France after the Second World War, Youry Bilak has been immersed in his roots since he was a child.
The artist's photos exhibited during the Cholet Festival are taken from a series of shots taken in Ukraine in 2022 in several cities in the country at war.
Poignant works of memory, which represent Ukrainian children in their environment, under Russian occupation...
The self-taught artist - also a philosophy teacher - started photography in 2008. With her series, she tackles gender stereotypes, according to which women's place is at home.
In this series of photographs, architecture and humans play the leading role.
A real staging that required several thousand photos, textures and models, rearranged like a puzzle!
Photographer and urban explorer, David de Rueda travels the world in search of abandoned places. The artist also finds inspiration in wide open spaces and nocturnal landscapes.
With him, you will travel to San Francisco, and even into space!
Originally from Cholet, the artist is exhibiting seven photographs that allowed him to win the Meilleur Ouvrier de France award in 2023. Like photography, travel is part of his existence.
During a trip to Namibia, the artist was struck by the graphic nature of the landscapes, the fauna, and the light of the country.
The common thread of these minimalist photos: in-depth work on form, light, and colors.
If you are visiting on October 26, you can even meet the photographers! And when you return from the exhibition, enjoy the patio and lounge bar of the Best Western San Benedetto!
